VISIBLE AIR CURRENTS - DANCING COLOR
I first saw a mobile in my mother's art/shop class when I was twelve. We studied the mobiles of Alexander Calder, their shape, their color and the connections used in making them. When we hung them up, suddenly the space over our headsm usually empty and unnoticeable, was alive with activity. The air currents became visible, and color danced. I was completely hooked.

Calder and Matisse are the artists who have most inspired me. They played with color, shape, line and movement and clearly had a wonderful time doing it. Their art simply makes me happy.

My mobiles are made of various wires and metals, plastic, recycled tin, and found objects. They range in size, from five inches to ten feet, and I love making them.
